General
A vehicle tracker uses GPS and mobile network technology to determine your vehicle’s location and transmit that information to a secure tracking platform or app. Depending on the system, you may also receive alerts for movement, towing, tampering, ignition activity and other events.
A tracker can help you monitor your vehicle’s location and provide valuable information if your vehicle is stolen. Some systems can also provide alerts and support vehicle recovery.
Yes. Compatible tracking systems can allow you to view your vehicle’s location and other information through a smartphone app or online platform.
A tracker is primarily designed to help locate and recover a vehicle. It does not physically prevent theft. For additional protection, a tracker can be combined with an immobiliser or other security system.
The tracker is installed discreetly within the vehicle. The exact location varies depending on the vehicle and product, and installation is carried out to maintain a professional, secure and reliable finish.
nstallation time depends on the vehicle and equipment being fitted. Most standard tracker installations can be completed within approximately 1–2 hours.

A professional installation should be carried out carefully and using appropriate connections and installation methods. However, vehicle warranties are manufacturer-specific, so customers should check their own warranty conditions where necessary.
A correctly installed tracker is designed to use a very small amount of power when the vehicle is parked. However, the condition of the vehicle’s battery and electrical system can affect battery performance.

A tracker helps locate and monitor a vehicle, while an immobiliser is designed to prevent or restrict the vehicle from being started or driven without authorisation. For enhanced protection, the two technologies can be used together.
A tracker does not prevent relay theft. For keyless vehicles, additional security such as a CAN Bus immobiliser and Faraday protection can provide a stronger overall security package.
