Customer Terms & Conditions

Tracked Installations – Customer Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These Customer Terms & Conditions apply to products and installation services supplied by Tracked Installations

By booking an installation, purchasing a product, or instructing us to carry out work on your vehicle, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms apply to both consumer customers and business/fleet customers, although certain consumer rights described below apply only where you are acting as a consumer.

⸻

1. Our Services

Tracked Installations provides professional vehicle security and telematics installation services, including, where applicable:

  • Vehicle trackers

  • Vehicle immobilisers

  • Dash cameras

  • Fleet tracking equipment

  • Vehicle telematics equipment

  • Associated wiring, installation and commissioning services

  • Other vehicle security and electrical installation services agreed with the customer

The exact product, service, price and installation requirements will be confirmed before work is carried out.

Where a product includes a subscription, monitoring service, SIM service or other ongoing service supplied by a manufacturer or third-party provider, that service may be subject to separate terms and conditions imposed by the relevant provider.

⸻

2. Bookings and Deposits

A booking is confirmed when:

  • we have agreed the date and time of the installation; and

  • any required deposit or payment has been received.

Where a deposit is required, the amount will be communicated to the customer before payment.

A deposit is intended to secure the booking and cover reasonable costs associated with reserving installation time, ordering products or preparing for the installation.

A deposit will not automatically be treated as non-refundable in every circumstance. Where a customer cancels, any amount retained will be proportionate to our reasonable losses and costs, taking into account whether the appointment can be resold.

If we cancel an installation for reasons within our control, we will normally offer the customer an alternative appointment or refund any payment for services that have not been provided.

⸻

3. Cancellation and Rearranging Appointments

Customers should provide as much notice as reasonably possible if they need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.

Where insufficient notice is provided, we may retain some or all of a deposit where this reasonably reflects losses we have incurred, such as:

  • reserved installation time;

  • parts or equipment ordered specifically for the booking;

  • travel or attendance costs;

  • third-party costs; or

  • other direct costs reasonably incurred as a result of the cancellation.

We will take reasonable steps to reduce our losses, including attempting to reallocate the appointment where possible.

Cancellation charges will not be used to remove or restrict any statutory consumer rights.

Where a consumer has a statutory right to cancel an applicable distance or off-premises contract, those rights will apply in accordance with applicable law.

⸻

4. Consumer Cancellation Rights

Where applicable, consumers may have statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

However, cancellation rights can depend on how and where the contract was entered into and whether the service has already started.

If you specifically request that installation work begins during an applicable cancellation period, we may require your express request before beginning the service.

Where permitted by law, if a consumer requests that a service begins during the cancellation period and subsequently cancels, the consumer may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service already supplied.

Where a service has been fully performed following the customer’s appropriate request and acknowledgement of the consequences, statutory cancellation rights may no longer apply.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or reduce a consumer’s statutory cancellation rights.

⸻

5. Installation – Reasonable Care and Skill

Tracked Installations will carry out installation services with reasonable care and skill.

We will use appropriate tools, installation methods and reasonable professional practices appropriate to the product and vehicle, based on the information available to us at the time of installation.

Where reasonably practicable, installations will be carried out discreetly and with appropriate consideration for:

  • vehicle trim;

  • wiring;

  • existing electrical systems;

  • manufacturer-approved or appropriate connection points;

  • safe routing of wiring; and

  • future servicing requirements.

We cannot guarantee that every vehicle will accommodate an installation without some modification, access requirements or differences in installation method.

Where we identify a significant issue that may affect the installation, we will discuss this with the customer where reasonably practicable before proceeding.

⸻

6. Installation Liability

We accept responsibility for damage caused by our installation work where that damage is established to have resulted from our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.

If you believe our installation has caused damage or a fault, you should notify us as soon as reasonably possible.

We may need to inspect the vehicle and installation before agreeing to repair, reimburse or otherwise resolve the issue.

Where appropriate, our first remedy will normally be to inspect and, where reasonably possible, rectify the installation.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

⸻

7. Vehicle Faults and Pre-Existing Damage

Customers must tell us about any known:

  • electrical faults;

  • warning lights;

  • battery problems;

  • starting problems;

  • immobiliser faults;

  • aftermarket equipment;

  • previous tracker or alarm installations;

  • damaged trim;

  • damaged wiring;

  • accident damage;

  • water damage;

  • modifications;

  • diagnostic faults; or

  • other relevant vehicle issues.

Before installation, we may record the vehicle’s condition and take photographs.

Where reasonably practicable, we may carry out basic functional checks before commencing work.

We are not responsible for faults, damage or failures that:

  • existed before our installation;

  • are unrelated to our work;

  • result from pre-existing damaged or defective wiring;

  • result from previous aftermarket modifications;

  • result from manufacturer defects;

  • arise from vehicle systems unrelated to the installation; or

  • arise after installation without evidence that our work caused them.

If we identify a pre-existing issue that could make the installation unsafe or unsuitable, we may refuse, postpone or modify the installation.

Any additional work required as a result of a pre-existing fault will be discussed with the customer before chargeable work is undertaken, where reasonably practicable.

⸻

8. Vehicle Condition and Photographs

We may photograph the vehicle before, during and after installation for the purposes of:

  • recording vehicle condition;

  • documenting the installation;

  • recording installation quality;

  • warranty or dispute purposes;

  • maintaining installation records; and

  • demonstrating the condition of the vehicle before and after work.

Photographs will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice and applicable data protection law.

⸻

9. Product Warranty

Products supplied by Tracked Installations may be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.

The applicable warranty period and terms will depend on the specific product.

Unless otherwise expressly stated, Tracked Installations does not provide a warranty that is longer or more extensive than the warranty offered by the manufacturer.

Where a product develops a fault, we may assist the customer with the warranty process where appropriate.

Warranty claims may require:

  • proof of purchase;

  • product serial number;

  • installation information;

  • photographs;

  • diagnostic information; or

  • inspection of the product or vehicle.

A warranty may not cover damage caused by misuse, accident, unauthorised modification, incorrect operation, tampering, water ingress, external damage or other exclusions contained within the manufacturer’s warranty.

⸻

10. Manufacturer Warranties

Where a manufacturer provides a separate warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty terms apply to the relevant product.

Tracked Installations is not responsible for decisions made by a manufacturer regarding whether a warranty claim is accepted or rejected.

Where a product is supplied and installed by us, we will reasonably assist with communication or information required for a warranty claim, but this does not make us responsible for the manufacturer’s warranty obligations.

⸻

11. Subscription and Monitoring Services

Some trackers and telematics products require an ongoing subscription.

Subscription services may include, depending on the product:

  • SIM connectivity;

  • tracking platform access;

  • mobile application access;

  • monitoring;

  • data storage;

  • alerts;

  • technical support; or

  • other services provided by the manufacturer or third-party provider.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Tracked Installations does not operate or control the manufacturer’s subscription or monitoring platform.

Once the subscription has been activated or transferred to the customer, the ongoing subscription relationship is generally between the customer and the relevant tracker/telematics provider.

Subscription pricing, renewal dates, minimum terms, cancellation arrangements and service availability may therefore be governed by the provider’s own terms.

Customers are responsible for maintaining any required subscription.

Failure to maintain a subscription may result in the tracker or associated features becoming unavailable.

⸻

12. Tracker Responsibility and Limitations

A vehicle tracker is a security and tracking aid and should not be considered a guarantee that a vehicle will not be stolen or recovered.

Tracking performance may be affected by factors including:

  • mobile network availability;

  • GPS availability;

  • satellite reception;

  • underground or enclosed locations;

  • interference;

  • signal obstruction;

  • device faults;

  • network outages;

  • subscription status;

  • battery condition;

  • vehicle electrical faults; or

  • circumstances outside the control of Tracked Installations.

Tracked Installations does not guarantee that a tracker will provide uninterrupted location data or guarantee vehicle recovery following theft.

Where monitoring, response or recovery services are provided by a third party, those services are subject to the third party’s terms and service availability.

⸻

13. Immobiliser Responsibility and Limitations

An immobiliser is designed to provide an additional layer of vehicle security.

No immobiliser can guarantee that a vehicle will never be stolen or compromised.

The effectiveness of an immobiliser may depend on:

  • correct installation;

  • correct customer operation;

  • vehicle condition;

  • the vehicle’s electrical and electronic systems;

  • manufacturer specifications;

  • product condition; and

  • circumstances outside our control.

Customers must use the immobiliser in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Customers must not disclose security codes, PINs, tags, keys or other security credentials to unauthorised persons.

If an immobiliser prevents the vehicle from starting or operating because it has been correctly activated, this will not automatically constitute an installation fault.

Where a fault is suspected, the customer should contact Tracked Installations so that the installation can be assessed.

⸻

14. Product Performance

Products are supplied for their intended purpose and in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

We do not guarantee that a product will provide a particular result beyond its stated specifications or representations made before purchase.

Where products rely on third-party services, networks, applications or infrastructure, availability may be outside our control.

⸻

15. Customer Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms affects a customer’s statutory rights.

For consumers, services supplied by Tracked Installations will be provided with reasonable care and skill as required by applicable consumer law.

Where applicable, goods must meet the statutory requirements relating to quality, conformity, fitness for purpose and description.

If something goes wrong, customers may have statutory remedies depending on the circumstances.

These Terms are not intended to exclude or restrict any legal right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

⸻

16. Refunds

Refunds will be handled in accordance with applicable law and these Terms.

Where a customer is legally entitled to a refund, we will process the refund within the applicable legal timeframe.

Where a product is faulty, the available remedy may include repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on the circumstances and applicable law.

A refund will not normally be available simply because a customer changes their mind outside any applicable cancellation period or where the product/service has been correctly supplied and performed, subject always to statutory rights.

Where a refund relates to a third-party subscription, the subscription provider’s refund terms may also apply.

⸻

17. Payment

Payment must be made using the payment method agreed at the time of booking.

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • payment for installation is due on completion of the installation;

  • payment for products may be required before installation;

  • deposits must be paid when requested;

  • outstanding balances must be paid before the vehicle is released where applicable.

We reserve the right to postpone or refuse an installation where agreed payment has not been received.

For business and fleet customers, invoices may be subject to agreed payment terms.

⸻

18. Installation Certificates and Records

Where applicable, Tracked Installations may provide an installation certificate or installation record.

This may include:

  • customer details;

  • vehicle details;

  • installation date;

  • product details;

  • serial number;

  • installer details;

  • installation notes;

  • testing information;

  • photographs;

  • warranty information; and

  • receipt or invoice information.

An installation certificate confirms that an installation was recorded as completed by Tracked Installations.

It does not constitute a guarantee that the vehicle cannot subsequently develop a fault or that the product will prevent theft.

Where a manufacturer or certification body requires separate registration or certification, the manufacturer’s or relevant body’s requirements will apply.

⸻

19. Customer Responsibilities

Customers must:

  • provide accurate contact and vehicle information;

  • ensure they have authority to instruct us to work on the vehicle;

  • disclose known faults and modifications;

  • provide all required keys, access devices or security information;

  • ensure the vehicle is reasonably accessible and safe for installation;

  • follow product operating instructions;

  • maintain required subscriptions;

  • keep security codes and credentials secure;

  • notify us of relevant faults as soon as reasonably possible; and

  • not interfere with or modify the installation without appropriate advice.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that they have the legal authority to have tracking, immobilisation or other security equipment installed on the vehicle.

⸻

20. Fleet Installations

Fleet installations may be subject to separate written quotations, service agreements or commercial terms.

The fleet customer is responsible for ensuring that:

  • they have authority to instruct installation;

  • vehicles are available at the agreed times;

  • relevant drivers or users are appropriately informed where required;

  • the customer has appropriate authority to process vehicle and driver-related information;

  • subscriptions are maintained;

  • vehicles are presented in an appropriate condition; and

  • any fleet-specific requirements are communicated before installation.

Tracked Installations does not provide employment, HR, legal or data-protection advice to fleet operators.

The fleet operator remains responsible for determining how tracking information is used within its organisation and for ensuring that its use of tracking technology complies with applicable law.

Where monitoring or subscription services are provided by a third party, the fleet operator may also be required to comply with that provider’s terms.

⸻

21. Privacy and Data Protection

Tracked Installations may collect and process personal information necessary to provide services and manage the customer relationship.

This may include:

  • name;

  • address;

  • telephone number;

  • email address;

  • vehicle information;

  • registration number;

  • installation records;

  • photographs;

  • payment information;

  • warranty information; and

  • communications relating to the service.

Where applicable, information may be shared with manufacturers, product suppliers, subscription providers, payment providers, insurers, professional advisers or other service providers where necessary to provide the service or meet legal obligations.

Tracked Installations will handle personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection law.

Our separate Privacy Notice explains how personal data is collected, used, stored and shared and explains applicable individual rights.

⸻

22. Vehicle Tracking and Data

Where a tracking product is installed, the tracker may collect information such as vehicle location, movement, diagnostic or other technical information depending on the product.

Tracked Installations generally acts as the installer and does not necessarily operate or control the tracking platform.

Once the product has been commissioned and the relevant service has been transferred to the customer, the relevant manufacturer’s or platform provider’s terms and privacy arrangements may apply.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they use tracking information lawfully and appropriately.

Fleet operators are particularly responsible for ensuring that employees, drivers and other individuals are appropriately informed where required.

⸻

23. Third-Party Services

Some products or services supplied as part of an installation may depend on third-party providers.

Examples include:

  • mobile networks;

  • GPS services;

  • tracking platforms;

  • manufacturer applications;

  • subscription platforms;

  • monitoring centres;

  • payment providers; and

  • warranty providers.

Tracked Installations cannot guarantee the continuous availability or performance of third-party services.

Where a problem arises solely from a third-party service, we will provide reasonable assistance where appropriate but cannot accept responsibility for matters outside our control.

⸻

24. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Subject to that:

Tracked Installations will not be responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was entered into.

We will not be responsible for losses caused by:

  • pre-existing vehicle faults;

  • undisclosed vehicle modifications;

  • incorrect customer operation;

  • failure to maintain subscriptions;

  • third-party network or platform failures;

  • manufacturer defects;

  • misuse or tampering;

  • unauthorised modifications;

  • circumstances outside our reasonable control; or

  • the customer’s failure to follow reasonable instructions.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited.

For consumers, nothing in this section is intended to restrict statutory rights or remedies.

⸻

25. Events Outside Our Control

We will not be responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

These may include:

  • severe weather;

  • vehicle breakdown;

  • supplier shortages;

  • manufacturer delays;

  • network outages;

  • power or telecommunications failures;

  • industrial action;

  • government restrictions;

  • accidents;

  • illness;

  • emergencies; or

  • other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where possible, we will notify the customer and arrange an alternative appointment or appropriate solution.

⸻

26. Complaints

If you have a concern about an installation, product or service, please contact Tracked Installations as soon as possible.

We will aim to:

  1. understand the issue;

  2. inspect the vehicle or installation where necessary;

  3. determine whether the issue relates to our workmanship, the product, the vehicle or a third-party service;

  4. explain the proposed resolution; and

  5. carry out an appropriate remedy where we are responsible.

Customers should give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify an installation issue before arranging third-party remedial work, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety.

⸻

27. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The Terms applying to a particular booking or purchase will normally be the version provided to or accepted by the customer at the time the contract was formed.

Updated Terms will apply to future bookings and purchases.

⸻

28. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

Where the customer is a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects any mandatory legal rights that apply to the consumer.
